I'm currently trying to add Givenergy support to the universal Inverter/Battery project but I'm struggling to find documentation for the BMS.
The inverter documentation is already published but not the BMS? Is this available at all? What protocol does it use?
[unknown] just had a peek on Github ...cool project, I'll follow your progress and hopefully in the future will be able to control Givenergy batteries with other hardware.... good stuff. Sorry unable to help as not very conversant with SW...good luck though.

kram I'm afraid I have no docs of the bms itself, just the inverter. I do have a spare BMS and I have some suspicions as to what protocol deep down it's using but what I've not had is the spare time to really get stuck in to it.
Cool project though & to be honest it would actually be beneficial to the second hand market to get something like that going. Old inverter prices are comically low for Gen1 but giv batteries are just ridiculous compared to what you can get new...
That is a shame. We will need to reverse engineer.
