How often does a battery calibration happen

Hi

My 13.5kWh AIO plus Gateway was installed 7 months ago and apart from a couple of hiccups has performed as expected since then - and it is still doing so.

Two days ago I received a notification stating the my battery had finished calibrating and my inverter should now work as normal. I did not knowingly initiate a recalibration so was surprised to received this message

I am just curious as to how the decision to re-calibrate is made and what determines the timings, preocess etc. It is not obvious from my electricity import and export data than anything much happened at all, so I am looking for any breadcrumbs/footprints to show me what happened or when.

Like I said, the system is functioning as I expect it to, so I am not complaining or worried, just curious

I saw a few rumblings about this mystery calibration on some other thread/s and I don't recall what it was down to other than it being erroneous data. When a calibration happens there are two messages; one that the calibration has started and once that it has completed.
The historic answer is that the calibration only happens on request and that usually a strategy from GE Support when charging levels is reported as an issue by a customer. Once upon a time there was the option somewhere in the 'My Inverter' tabs that allowed us to initiate it ourselves but that has been taken away. In my. thankfully rare, experience of the option being used Support will usually but a delayed start on the process so that the discharge (and most especially) the charge will happen during your off peak period, assuming that you are a time of use tariff. When it was an option available to users there was no delay function - it was initiated and started immediately and once started there was no method available to the user to stop it.

GrahamShaul There is, once again an option in the portal to setup a calibration.

Thank you all, I shall dutifully ignore this message 🙂

Vestas Interesting - where?

GrahamShaul Inverter->Remote Control

Edit - oh and you can schedule it. I used it last year, worked fine despite never getting a "Complete" notification.

Vestas Is it staring me in the face? I just can't see it!

GrahamShaul It was staring me in the face! Found it now. Thanks

This from support:
The batteries will not need calibrating as our newer firmware files are self-calibrating. Gen 3 batteries use a different set of firmware to the older batteries, and 4007 is the most up to date firmware for them.
