My EV charger is continually reporting a Ground Error. It has been like this since install. Installer has not come back.
Any ideas what issue could be. Is this a genuine ground error and that the earth cable is disconnected or broken along the run.
Many thanks
Paul
EV Charger. 25: Ground Error
phanna Grid overvoltage (> 253V) can cause this.
phanna I don’t have a. GivEV charger, but in the portal for my inverters I can see meter data and look at the incoming grid voltage over time. Assume the EV charger data is similar?
If you are getting grid overvoltage then you need to report it to your DNO, they will come and fit metering equipment and if they agree with the issue they will turn your transformer down
Thanks
I have an AIO and it is not being reported on it. It is just the EV charger reporting

phanna I think I;ve heard that the ev charger is more sensitive
I was previously getting lots of 26:GroundLeak errors. Sometimes several per day. They were happening when grid voltage was high and this more often than not was when the inverter was exporting. The EV charger would clear the error after an hour or so and revert to normal. I wasn’t convinced the DNO would do anything and they would just say the voltage was within tolerance levels. So I asked my installer to fit a GivEnergy voltage regular device. Not had one error since. It seems like the EV charger was more sensitive than most other household devices.
SteveClubley thanks Steve. Any details on the GivEnergy regulator. Cost and is it installed inside EV or Gateway.
Paul

So long as the voltage optimiser is fitted downstream to the EV charger. They should not be used as a fudge to allow your inverter to keep exporting to the grid if your local voltage exceeds 253V.

Hi. Physically it’s near my distribution board in an understairs cupboard but not sure how my installer wired it. It cost approx £250.
