Signed up using their online form a few weeks back for SEG https://form.asana.com/?hash=f795e91a1a35e11d746dc8d62594db8867f45127e2166a16b309544647aefcd4&id=1198086703095946 Didn't hear anything so emailed them. They said they were waiting for the MPAN to be created. This morning I got a "Welcome to Octopus" email but it looks like one you'd get if you'd switched to them for buying energy from. Is this what other people have experienced?
Anyone use Octopus just for SEG?
I created my SEG outgoing account with octopus before moving the rest of my supply across. Mainly due to the previous tariff I was on and letting that run to the bitter end! To answer your question, yes, that’s what it was like for me as well. Your online account will also look a bit weird as the whole platform is built around import tariffs, not export only. That being said, you can rest at ease, they will have it all in hand and although it might look a bit odd on the account, it will work.
Bit cheeky, I know, but if you’re thinking of swapping your supply to octopus I have a referral code where we both get £50. Happy to share this if it helps.
c_squared That's great to hear, thank for the confirmation that I can rest easy ha! On the referral code, my brother has been bugging me for months to switch, so already sorted there - but again thank you! 😀
If you are with Octopus for your incoming supply, then their "agile" outgoing tariff pays far better than the fixed SEG rate.

You can't do that if you are on Octopus Go or any of the Go Faster variants though.
Zakalwe That is true.
