Afternoon boost not behaving the way I'd like

Apologies - I've seen a post regarding this but I simply cannot find it.

I'd like to set my inverter to get to 45% before the evening increase in price on Flux. So I've set a charge from 2pm - 4pm with a target of 45%. If it gets to 2pm at, say 35% charge, all well and good; the house runs from the grid and charge flows to the battery until it reaches 45% then the battery sits at 45% until 4pm. Exactly what I want.

If the battery is at, say 55% at 2pm, the house runs from the grid from 2pm to 4pm, leaving the battery at 55%. Not at all what I want.

Is there a setting I'm missing? In short, I want the battery to be at 45% at 4pm.

Onionman No, I don't think you're missing anything - the sort of behaviour you're after isn't really available.

What sort of system / firmware do you have? One weird behaviour (bug ?) my hybrid has is that if you have a discharge slot configured with a min. charge level, it will slowly charge up to that level if it's below, even if timed discharge is not enabled. Unfortunately, it only charges at a few hundred watts, so isn't really what you want. But it would achieve the effect that you'll run from battery if it's above the level, or from grid if it's below. Maybe in combination with an explicit charge at 3:30pm ?

I think the premium version of https://givenergymonitor.wixsite.com/tutorials offers conditional charging - if SoC is less than X, then charge, else do nothing. You can make a ladder of these to get you up to what's needed. But that requires a dedicated android device (old tablet or something).

Could do it with Home Assistant, which many on here like, but it's a lot to set up for a fairly trivial task.
