Lost charge slots after firmware update

I have a GivEnergy All in One which is set to charge 3x per day at times when my tariff (Octopus Cosy) is lowest.

Yesterday I installed a firmware update (D0.613-A0.613) for the inverter.

While the timed charge settings appeared to be unchanged in both the mobile app and website. following the update, the battery failed to charge. I had to put in the timed charge settings again to restore charging.

This is less than ideal. Has anyone else had this kind of problem after firmware updates?

Guy Moquet a firmware update reloads everything on the inverter, clearing the registers that hold the charge and discharge slots

I am surprised that the portal didn't realise that the inverter had different settings to what it thought they should be, these would normally appear as 'external change detected'.

But yes, probably would need to set these back up after a firmware upgrade. Fortunately not a frequent occurrence

At the modbus level, when one client makes a request, the response is broadcast to all connected clients. I'd guess this is the mechanism by which the portal learns about external changes. (My own script picks up portal changes this same way.) But if it's the firmware making the changes, there'd be no modbus activity to pick up on.

DD that's interesting and would explain it. I'd assumed that the portal polled the inverters but this would be more efficient - just as long as a client requests the change

I timed charges in my App for midnight, 0130 & 0330 this morning but for some reason the 0130 slot didn’t happen but my AiO charged at midnight & 0330 as planned. No idea why & Ive made no updates to firmware etc.
I’m on Agile & used the Octopus R&D site to automate charging in the cheapest 3 slots between midnight & 1600 each day - it worked seemlessly until the clock change last October but has never worked since. I tried resetting it in January & Phil from Octopus Agile checked my settings remotely & they were good but seems to be an issue at the GivEnergy end but heard nowt from them.

Rock719g if you post a snippet of the activity log when you made the changes, someone might spot a problem.

Sorry I’m a geek - what do you mean by activity log - I assume you don’t mean the timed charging schedule? Where would I find the activity log?

Rock719g “not a geek” that should read 🤪

Rock719g in the givenergy portal / inverter details / remote control there is a log of all inverter changes, you can page back to the approximate time the incident occurred
