App connection

Had to turn router off some 10 hours ago, app will not connect since.

Billyboy try shutting the inverter down and starting it back up again to force it to try to reconnect to the wifi

Follow the instructions given by your installer to shut it down safely. Or if you don’t have them, look at the installation guide for your inverter

I asume you mean the GE app on a mobile phone?
The GE mobile app now needs an internet connection in order to start up so if your mobile device is set to access the interent via wifi/router (and not via mobile data) then the app will get stuck at "getting things ready".
If thii is the case, you can turn wifi off on your phone and use mobile data to get the app started. However, the app will not be able to talk to the inverter because the inverter is offline (you have no internet).
If you want to have local control of the inverter when there is no internet (router down) you will have to use third party software. Something like "Monitor for GivEnergy Inverter".

Same problem with WiFi only tablet.
Solved it by clicking on 'HOME' on dashboard then opening top left menu, selecting 'settings' then 'local monitoring'. At this point the Inverter IP was showing as disconnected. Clicking 'scan for Inverter' (world symbol) and waited. After about 2 mins a ' NEW' IP address was generated. Clicked on the now greyed out symbol which populated the address list and a tick appeared against it showing it was connected. Exiting back to home screen and the APP was back on line.
Reason.If the router was off for extended period it may have generated new dynamic IP addresses which the GE inverter has not picked up.
It is easy to test this anytime, often the same IP is returned when the Scan is done.

the fix for this is to go into your router settings, possibly advanced mode, and set the IP address that has been allocated to the inverter to being a fixed IP address. That stops it changing when the router reboots
