On the Home Dashboard when the ‘Grid’ icon is in grey and showing Neutral below does it mean that there is no power going from the grid to ‘Home’/ Battery. The dashboard is showing solar to home and battery but there isn’t any activity to/from the grid. Thanks
Home Dashboard
Franco Yes - no power in and no power being exported
CW thanks for your reply. So to clarify, does this mean that there is nothing wrong with the system and this is ‘normal’? Thanks
Franco It sounds correct. The standard setting is for ECO mode on which is where the system will try and balance your grid usage.
When there is solar being generated, then the system will attempt touse the solar to satisfy the house load first.
If after that there is any excess power then the system will charge the battery.
If after the battery is full, then the system will export the energy to the grid (assuming there is a grid connection)
If there is not enough solar (or no solar at all) then the system will use the battery to satisfy the house load
If the battery is flat (or you have some other setting such as Pause switched on) then the house load difference will be satisfied by importing from the grid (assuming there is a grid connection)
So whilst there is somewhere for your energy to go (house load and/or battery) then the system will ignore the grid. It will only go to the grid when there is too much power being generated that can be used/stored, or, there is not enough power being generated/stored to satisfy house load
Thanks for your very clear explanation. It appears that things are working as they should. Thanks again for your reassurance
