Why is the battery power so much higher than the demand?

The battery was nice and full after a day of sunshine. The home demand is fluctuating, it's peak time in our household. Why is the home demanding more from the battery than the actual load? I'm new to all this, and haven't had any kind of walk through, just learning as I go. Help me understand, if this is normal or a fault. System is new on 31/1/25.

Can you tell us a little more? How many panels and their power? What battery and inverter do you have and its make etc? Who is your electricity supplier and what tariff are you on?

An obvious point is to contact the installer and ask for that walk through though I admit mine was pretty sketchy too.

You would need to also account for the inverter demand - the battery will be satisfying both the house load and the inverter.

Roy124 it hadn't occurred to me that any of that was relevant! It's a 10 x 425w panel system, over two arrays. GIV.HY3.6 inverter. Firmware D0.311-A0.311. 4007. Battery: 106 Ah | 5.43 kWh | (1 Pack)

I'm still on EDF, haven't had a handover pack yet from the installers, so not 'earning' from any solar-surplus, as far as I know.

From another response I'm guessing the surplus in the figures is the inverter's demand. Obviously I hadn't thought of that! Do the numbers look right? It does track fairly parallel.

Rina thank you. I can't comment on the figures. Regarding getting paid for export there is a number of hoops to jump through gathering the necessary paper trail before getting accepted. I am no expert so will let others guide you. At least with EDF they should give you all you need.
