Hi,
Last night I updated the Firmware of my GivEnergy AC Coupled battery (GIV-AC3.0) to 3017 and since the updated my battery is not discharging to my house. No battery settings were changed and the ECO setting is still set.

I’m on the Octopus Intelligent Octopus Go tariff and the battery was fully charged at 05:30, as expected This morning my battery is still at 100% and on checking it has not discharged at all since yesterday. Instead, it is constantly being kept fully charged and we are importing from the grid to run the household. Any excess solar energy is being exported to the grid.

I’ve tried restarting the battery and powering off the mains switch, neither works.

Has anyone else had this issue when updating to Firmware 3017? Any advice will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

I would try disabling Eco mode and then resetting it. If you know how to check the registers via the remote control option on the web portal I think there is an option to check the actual values.

Also make sure that no breakers have tripped which would stop power getting to your house.

Thank you.

I have tried switching ECO mode off and on again and it doesn't make any difference. I've just checked our consumer board and no breakers have tripped.

I have used the remote control settings and had a look but couldn't see anything wrong. What in particular do you suggest I look for here?

Thanks again!

[unknown] As another check, if you have 8.2 kWh batteries, check the breaker between the inverter and the batteries. I have had this replaced twice!

Also check the logs in the GE portal to check that the battery is showing values.

WeeTrishB is the battery lit up green?

Do you have a serial number for anyone to take a look at for you?

I'm unsure how to check the "breaker" between the inverter and batteries - can you please expand?

I've checked the logs and can't see any issue - the logs show 100% battery.

Thanks!

Yes, the battery is lit up green i.e. 5 green lights. One status and 4 showing the storage is at full capacity.

fixed. AC Charge was set 0145 - 0029
put it back as it was previous 0145-0529

I appreciate you making the changes however my issue is still outstanding. I am currently importing from the grid while my battery is 100% full i.e. my battery is unable to discharge since updating the Firmware.

Can you please advise?

WeeTrishB Make sure charge enable is off. In fact best to turn it on then off again through the portal. It may be stuck due to the AC charge time error.

WeeTrishB this has nothing to do with FW

This was also set at 0W

Now the sun is lower, I can see teh battery is now meeting the home load, and now capped at its min power level

Thanks for your help and my battery is now working.

The battery stopped working as expected after the FW update. I didn't make any changes until I noticed it wasn't working i.e. it was 100% full and I was importing from the grid to run the house. Therefore I believe this issue is something for GivEnergy to be aware of during the 3017 FW update.

Thanks again for your support. It's much appreciated and I'm pleased to be back up and running.
