Wonder Watt, battery not discharging

I’ve just connected Wonder Watt to my GivEnergy inverter (AC3), about 2 hours ago. However, now the house is pulling electricity from the grid instead of the battery, which is charged to 100%.

I assume I’ve set something up wrong, but no idea where to start.

I’m on Intelligent Octopus Go, but haven’t connected that account to Wonder Watt yet, as I’m not sure where or how to find the Octopus API key.

Louiseburmeister its difficult to help you Louise with limited information

Can you share a screenshot of your wonderwatt plan so we can see what’s programmed?

Get wonderwatt right first before you start worrying about the octopus go integration, but your api key is in the ‘my account’ details on the website, not the app

geoffreycoan just to clarify, is it the Settings you need to see?

Louiseburmeister I don’t use wonderwatt so can’t tell you for sure, but the more you can share on what you have configured, the more chance we have to be able to help you.

Things like the settings, the plan of what charging/discharging is set, etc.

If you just say “I assume I have set something up wrong” isn’t a lot to go on ….

You might also contact @Wonder Watt support, they’re quite helpful

Before you try schedules it is worth checking the link between WW and your inverter is working. On the WW home page try the Quick Schedule towards the bottom of the page. Try a charge and make sure that the battery input power is its maximum (3KW on an AC3.0 inverter). Then try a discharge. Use the GE app to check the powers in and out of the various bubbles and report back what happened. This will give us information about the WW link and whether your inverter is set to the right max charge and discharge powers. Also note for us the state of the ECO flag at the end (it should be on).

Edit: If the battery is currently at 100% do the discharge test before the charge test.

geoffreycoan Fair enough. I have actually contacted Wonder Watt and they have just come back to say that the problem has nothing to do with them. WW have not sent any instructions since I signed up.

The only other thing that comes to mind is that I tried to update the battery/inverter firmware yesterday via the GivEnergy dashboard, but if failed.
