Battery not charging or discharging properly

There appears to be something not quit right with our system suddenly. The battery charged last night to 100% as it was meant to, but would not discharge to the house this morning. There are 2 events that I think could have contributed to a problem:

  1. I connected Wonder Watt to the inverter this morning. The WW team say the problem can't be with them though, as they had not sent any instructions to the inverter.
  2. I tried to update the inverter firmware yesterday afternoon, twice. Both times it failed.

I have tried again to update the firmware and software, which I think has worked (I didn't get a failed notification, but also didn't get a success notification).

Inverter model is GIV-AC3.0
Inverter Software Version is D0.534-A0.205
Last Software Update is ---
Inverter Firmware Version is now D0.534-A0.205.
Battery Firmware Version is now 3008
Last Update Time is ---

During the update the battery was drained to 0%. Now, even with blazing sunshine and the solar panels generating >2kW, the battery is only taking up <100W, while the rest is being exported. I can confirm that Eco is enabled. Even if I try to force it to charge, nothing changes.

Louiseburmeister I think you might need GE help. It is more than likely that the firmware update is not complete or has left registers in a funny state - some of which only they can see.

This is my version for AC 3.0 inverter and 2x5.2KW batteries.

What is telling is that the D and A versions usually match and yours seem to be different (534 and 205). Bit like it has partially updated.

Mine also shows this (and I'm not hitting that button despite how appealing it is).

Windy Miller Thank you, that is helpful. I now regret pressing that very appealing button, but have emailed GE to investigate.

Louiseburmeister its worth you calling them as well, might have to hang on the phone for a while but you’ll get a quicker response

This has happened to me as well. Battery didn't charge at the scheduled time last night and won't discharge to the house!

Louiseburmeister Your installer may be able to nudge it back into action. Its probably half way through a calibrate

Hopeful will keep that in mind if I don’t get anywhere with GE.

Thank you everyone

Try resetting all your system settings to factory default and setting them up again. In particular, the charge and discharge settings. Even if they look right, change them to something else and then back again.
