Energy going to grid when should be going to batteries

I find it really annoying that sometimes the electric is going to the grid when it should be going to the batteries. Take yesterday for example.. it was super sunny all day and the batteries only achieved 49% but the full export to the grid was 20kwh and generation to battery was 6.31kwh (27/2/2025). We have two 9.5kwh batteries and nearly every time I looked at the app all the excess was going on the grid. I tried to reset the batteries but this didn't help? Sometimes they charge but yesterday was particularly bad.
So, what I want to know is how do I force the batteries to charge? I have heard there is sometimes a lag in showing on the app but every time I looked yesterday it was 85% of the time charging the grid. I've attached some screen shots to demonstrate..

Sometimes it works - been better today as at 49% already although it's doing the same and it's blazzing outside.

What tariff are you on.
Do you use the web portal. It is a lot easier to see what is going on than the phone app
Make sure ECO is ON. You may have to turn ECO OFF and hit submit and then turn ECO back ON again and hit submit.
You could then look at the inverter logs to check ECO is ON

Also, check that the battery hasn't been paused via the big play button at the bottom. (If you don't use that, you can hide it from the UI.)

I believe there can be issues with multiple batteries - if you press the battery icon at the bottom, can you see the individual charge levels on the batteries ? AIUI if one is full, both have to stop charging.

ChapmanGPH also check what your battery charge rate is set to. If its set to a low value then most of the generated PV will be exported not going into the batteries.

A ‘reset to defaults’ in the portal should reset your inverter to a default configuration including Eco mode on, but as others have suggested, do manually turn eco off then on again, likewise battery pause and battery charge rate to ensure these settings are sent to your inverter
