My battery / ac-coupled inverter setup was installed last week and I'd like to 'link' my existing Octopus Go tariff info to the cloud portal. After faithfully copying the 4 required data fields from my Octopus Go (Account / API) information, upon submission I get a 'The given data is invalid' response.

Can anyone here help, please? Many thanks, Andy

What meter do you have installed? And do you get the usage information through your Octopus account?

Fortune7 it’s a Monday, it’s an update day, so perhaps try again in a bit?

DeanoC75 Thanks, my meter info:
Meter type:Smart (SMETS1)
Made by:SecureLiberty 100

Yes, my up-to-date usage info. Is available in my Octopus account. Just tried applying the info. again and the same result.

Cheers, Andy

TX200 Thanks. I tried this first last Friday, then over the weekend, then just now (Tuesday morning) - same result!

Fortune7 I wonder if octopus are having issues then.

When I set it up, their website and call centre were swamped due to the April price cap and people rushing to submit their readings.

Took a few attempts to get it sorted over several days.

Fortune7 If your octopus account is correct and upto date, I don't think there is an issue with their side then.
Have you checked the 'What's New' in your portal as there was mentions about the Octopus issues and will be resolved this week.
I've had no issues with the data from my account, however i'm now on a SMETS2 meter. I was on the SMETS1 and it was a bit hit and miss, as my original SMETS1 meter had just been updated to allow the smart metering to be monitored.

Hi @Fortune7

I've looked at your account using your email and the API key you've entered is invalid.

We've had this issue with a couple of customers who resolved it by regenerating their API key. I'm unsure why a number of users are having invalid keys as it's an issue on Octopus

We'll be improving the message returned from the card very soon so there's more clarity as to what is happening

Thanks for the reply. I just entered the data again with a 'refreshed' API key and it failed the same. I then repeated the process a further 9 times with 'new' API keys with the same result, so I don't think in my case it can be solved by simply regenerating.

I have taken this-up with both George at Givenergy support and also with Octopus Energy helpdesk (though unsuccessful in reaching someone who understood the problem). I then reached Sam Driver at Givenergy (Developers) who asked for screenshots which I emailed to support@givenergy.co.uk. Sam told me he will further investigate.

Do you think I should try repeatedly submitting the data with regenerated APIs? Otherwise, does anyone there have a direct access number to Octopus developers please, if Sam can't solve it on my behalf?

Many thanks, Andy

Still no solution to this for me and no response from Givenergy support (@Sam Driver) since emailing a week ago. I keep trying to enter my Octopus Energy account data and the only change is the error is "Server Error" instead of "The given data is invalid".
Any feedback please?

Cheers, Andy

We've looked into your account based on your latest input and using your credentials, Octopus is rejecting this information with their 'server error'. We have no way to amend your Octopus account so you need to contact Octopus for this issue since its out of our hands

Thanks, Mickey. So far, I only have a contact for Octopus Energy's Customer Service, which has been less than helpful as they don't know anything about APIs, etc!

Do you guys have any (better) contact details for Octopus for this issue, please?

Many thanks, Andy
