Last year when ECO was off and AC Charge Enabled was off but a charge window with rate was specified you could charge the battery from solar if available. This was useful in managing the system. Somewhere in the plethora of firmware updates this seems to have been lost. Was it a feature or a happy accident and will we see it again?
AIO solar not charging when AC Charge Off
Hopeful On my hybrid system, with eco off it will charge the battery from solar, but only once the AC generation is maxed-out. (ie it provides a grid-first-then-battery priority).
(But I'm not really sure how AIO perceives solar - my limited understanding is that it is just an AC-coupled battery, though possibly the AC output from solar inverter plugs into the gateway ?)
AFAIK charge windows don't have associated rates, only SoC limits.
DD Sorry DD I just meant that without AC Enabled, if you were in a charge window, then the rate control affected the charge rate in the same manner as when AC Charge was enabled. Now without AC Charge Enabled you get the usual few hundred watts trickle.
Yes the solar is a separate AC feed into the gateway on the AIO so maybe it needs 2 registers, AC (Grid) Charge Enabled and AC (Solar) Charge Enabled
Hopeful I find that max charge rate limits solar charging independent of charge windows. But probably no point comparing firmware oddities across different device families
