Home Away Toggle on the Home Screen

Mine is always set to Away.

I can’t switch it to Home.

What is the difference between the settings?

Away it reads the inverter information from the givenergy portal which is updated every 5 minutes, home it reads the inverter directly every 10 seconds.

Its most likely you have got your app set to wrong IP address for your inverter. This has been covered before, you need to do a re-scan of ‘local monitoring’ (under the settings menu) - search the forum for instructions or read the guide

I have checked and the App seems to be set to connect to the inverter directly- the inverter is in my garage and the Wi-Fi is not great there- would that be the cause.

Also The Home Screen shows me exporting 1.3kW just now but the solar panel icon still reads zero as it always does- any ideas?

Bobby123 sorry forgot to mention, you have to be on the same wifi network as your inverter for home mode to work

If your wifi isn’t great to your inverter in the garage then might be worth getting a wifi repeater or mesh network, because if the portal can’t reliably talk to your inverter then you’ll have trouble controlling it

I don’t know why your panels show as 1W, I know you have posted on this before. It either suggests a faulty CT clamp for the PV panels, or something wrong with the inverter configuration. Best to call your installer to get them to look at it

If your panels are 1w, then I suggest as does Geoffrey that something must be wrong.
Are the DC string isolators "off".
Are the CT clamps in the correct place and working
Have you got any notifications on the web portal

the screenshot above shows the battery full and not discharging, but the home exporting, so the DC breakers must all be on and the panels generating, the DC converted to AC, with the excess AC being exported.

Points to it either being a CT clamp issue or inverter not reading the CT clamp properly. Might just be as simple as the CT clamp fitted the wrong way round. hence my suggestion to get the installer back. I think Bobby123 said that the battery is relatively new and the solar panels have never reported as generating
