My installer has heard a rumour that GivEnergy are thinking of a DC connected expansion battery for the All In One, to plug into the existing inverter. This would be fantastic for us, as our DNO won't let us add an additional All In One. It would hopefully be cheaper to buy and install too.
Has anyone heard anything? How do we encourage them to do this?
The AIO has no DC connections. So I think your installer is perhaps muddling that up with the AIO2 which will have DC connections for direct PV and presumably extra batteries.

Shame. Anyone got any ideas how I can add more battery storage to my AIO? Can a change be made to existing battery to reduce output to 3.6kw, then I think the DNO would let me add another 3.6kw.
Pete Cousins There will be others more au-fait with this, but you can certainly get a second AIO hooked up to the first, and I beleive it should be possible (installer / manufacturer setting) to restrict the amount of energy exported to the grid (if required)
Certainly the hybrids have a setting for maximum grid export (set during commissioning, I believe, If the bloody installers do their job 🙁 ), Don't see why the AC and AIO wouldn't have the same.
AIO does indeed have a G100 control that can restrict the amount that can be sent to the grid so adding a second AIO is an option if you have the room to site it.
Thanks all - I don't know why my installer is reluctant to do this - maybe they don't know. I'll chase them up.
