Hi All,
Apologies if it’s been covered, between 0450 and 0530 battery went from around 40% to 5 % within half an hour completely unexplained, I think the tv was on I was getting ready for work other than boiling a kettle, cannot see why it would deplete! Any ideas ? There’s nothing I can see on inverter, but don’t understand everything in all the settings!

Neal720 the usual hypothesis is that the BMS has lost track of the true state of the battery level, and suddenly discovers it has less than it thought. Do you regularly fully charge / discharge your battery ? Looks like you don't charge it from grid overnight for example. The BMS gets a chance to reset it's tracking when it gets to visit the limits regularly.

On the GE YouTube channel there's a video where they suggest (but fall short of recommending) a full discharge from time to time. Mine fully cycles every day.

Ideally you have a tariff where overnight import rate is less than daytime export rate, so that it makes financial sense too.

Hi DD,

Thanks for the reply up until 10 days ago I was charging overnight but since the lighter days I’ve stopped overnight charging, I have been away for a week so the battery probably wasn’t discharging much over the course of 5 days and the solar has been good, whether this has meant ‘BMS’ like you said has become confused, I’ll see how I get on, but won’t be charging overnight given the current weather and lighter days, I haven’t normal discharged overnight, maybe I’ll think of discharging more now it’s lighter days.
