Hi, just had a new battery installed + gateway.. can someone please explain the zero rated bit on the VAT. Does my installer zero rate ALL purchased parts in addition to the labour? He had to pay Vat from the Warehouse/Distributor and all parts (cables etc) so Im interested to see what other paid?
Obviously somewhere there is VAT bit but does he list it as zero rated for me??
Vat free/zero rate installation ?
I had mine installed a year ago and paid no VAT. Presumably the installer claims back any VAT paid on sundries, assuming they're VAT registered.
Ditto. I lumped as much as possible into the one project to get 0% VAT on the lot e.g. Car Charger, new consumer unit, solar panels, inverter, battery & all the labour to install it. At the time of my install 0% VAT was only available on the solar panels & inverter & VAT was being applied to batteries if bought & installed separately from the solar system. By getting everything as a package there was no VAT on anything.
The installer should not be charging you for any VAT associated with the solar installation & they claim any VAT paid on components back from HMRC.

Thats great thank you very much indeed.
