My 8.2kWh battery was newly retro fitted in January this year to my existing 4kWh PV system. All has worked well until the last 48hrs. Two days ago it suddenly showed in the morning that it had charged from 10% to 100% in 1 hour! As it was a "baking day" using electric ovens it discharged to 10% and back to 100% a couple of times during the day taking an hour approx. between cycles. I believe that the battery is showing 100% when in fact is has only the equivalent of 3kWh charge, this has persisted into today - last night when the house was using 500W/hour it discharged in approx. 4 hours when previously a fully charged battery has lasted all evening/night until it started charging at 20% as the sun started PV generation, fullyncharging the battery on a good day at approx. 12.30pm. Now it charges from the reserve 4% to 100% by 9.30am ! Does anybody have any suggestions as to what the problem is? Battery? Inverter? anything else? I have sent an email to GivEnergy but as it is the weekend I have not yet had a reply. I haven't,as yet, contacted the installer. Thank you in advance. John N.

What firmware is the battery? May need to be updated, BMS version 3007 was issued to deal with this issue for some customers.

Firmware update and a calibration cycle should sort it

TheDragon (GivEnergy) Thank you. Latest firmware on portal is 3005 - how do you get 3007?

johnnutton mine is on 3005, checked the inverter software page this morning and found the 3007 update is there ready to load.

OOH nice. I wonder if they turn the upgrade available on, on a case by case basis

Others are also now reporting 3007 is available to update

3007 didn't fix my problem. Charged from 4% to 100% in 1 hour ! Smartmeter registered usage of 2.5kW. Discharge from 100% to 4% takes 1 hour. Have tried forced discharge and forced charge - no change. Should I try the computer helpdesk advice "switch it off, then switch it back on"?
Thanks for any help, John N

Issue resolved after visit by GE engineer. It was a cable connection problem between the the inner battery cells which after a clean of the terminals and a retightening of connections now appears to be resolved. As a note, apparently the battery self diagnosed with numerous "notifications" stating "check battery cable connections" well before the problem manifested into the problem that occurred in early June. These notifications were missed by all, including me - so search for "Notifications" on the portal - I certainly will in the future, BUT, if you are not a qualified electrician call for expert assistance.
