J_Rooney we'd need a bit more info to help. Is this a new installation, or has something changed? Where do these numbers come from?
I assume you mean kWh (energy) rather than kW (power) - 2.5kW is close to the max battery power of a gen-1 hybrid.
It seems this battery installed in March 2022, & commissioned at beginning of April that year ran from -2.0 KW to + 2 0 KW up to 80% of full charge on maximum power chart in GivEnergy app. Yet when clicking on more info. regarding battery it shows as being fully charged in this sunny weather at 5.1 KW. Where is the additional charge disappearing to please?
Also why is my solar pv system running at 74% efficiency, ie I seem to be buying 26% energy back from Octopus on 'best' tariff, yet so much energy is going straight to the grid whe my battery is apparently fully charged, & does not seem to empty during the night please?

What equipment have you got. What inverter and what battery inc size.
What tariff are you on?
What software versions are your battery and inverter on.
What system setting are you on? Are you on Eco?
How do you know your "solar pv system is running at 74% efficiency" What is telling you that number
What is "best" tariff?
J_Rooney Sorry, missed your reply.
I know it's tedious, but it is rather important to distinguish power from energy.
On the power chart, a range of -2.0kW to +2.0kW corresponds to the power that it's charging or discharging at, ie the rate at which energy is flowing in or out of the battery. The amount of energy depends also on how long it's running at these power levels. You've not said how big your battery is, but 5.1kWh is one of the standard sizes, so a fully charged battery showing 5.1kWh sounds reasonable. So I'm not sure why you think some charge has been lost.
Posting a picture of the power chart for a day might be useful, though unfortunately the forum isn't working terribly well with trying to post pictures at the moment. (Or is that fixed ?)
Unfortunately, I don't understand the second part of your question. You are presenting us with your conclusion that it's working at 74% efficiency, but you'd need to show us the numbers from which you draw this conclusion. Perhaps you are saying that when it's sunny, some of your generated power is sent to the grid, and then later after sunset your having to buy some energy back from the grid, rather than using stored energy from the battery ?
It would be useful to know which Octopus tariff you are on - that might affect the answer.

Hello again DD, yes 5.1 battery, not always on outgoing Octopus, & Octopus flux import set up around end of 2023.
Prior to that had regulator sort me out with British gas in India.

J_Rooney Can I suggest that you login to your https://givenergy.cloud/dashboard .From the side bar you can create a report and see what your system is doing over a period of time. The figures that you have provided are meaningless unless defined. If they are in kWh then over the period of the report your solar produced an average of 182kWh of solar each day. Of that an average of 31.8kWh was generated to the home. The 5.1kWh battery supplied the home with on average 30kWh per day. The grid supplied almost 19kWh on average each day.
It is more confusing because you said in an earlier post that the battery does not empty during the night.
Are you on Intelligent Octopus Flux? If so Octopus will be controlling the battery. If not then you need to check your battery settings. Select the My Inverter option from the side bar in the dashboard and then the Remote Control section (the cog wheel). Refresh the figures that you see in the remote control section to see what is actually set on the inverter. Sometimes the figures displayed on the screen and those in the inverter get out of sychronisation.

Those numbers are similar to a year's generation for me, so I'm going to assume it was 2024 to 2025. Therefore it includes a winter where you'd have very little generation and a lot of grid import. During summer, you may generate more solar than you can use or store, and will export the excess. So those numbers don't sound too bad. (I won't offer my numbers for comparison since I am financially incentivised towards export over self-consumption .)
The GE app offers to present information from several different views. This one shows the mix making up your consumption. The buttons along the bottom allow to instead view where all the solar generation went (x to home, y to battery, z to grid) and so on. It would be useful to see that view.
And a seasonal breakdown might be more useful than a whole year one.
As mentioned, the reports on the portal are a useful way to summarise your figures.
