Hi,
(and apologies in advance for the length of the question) My solar panel installer has specified two Givenergy Inverters and a Givenergy Battery for our installation. I'm happy with the spec and we await the start of the installation. In the meantime, I'm trying to understand how I can integrate the data from the various devices into my home monitoring system. My system comprises a Raspberry Pi MQTT broker which also runs Node Red and a second Pi running InfluxDB to log parameters and Grafana for visualisation. I have numerous ESP8266s and ESP32s dotted around which use MQTT for control of switches, valves and pumps and sending parameters such as flow, temperature, level, Voltage, Amps etc to Node red, which sends those I want to log, on to InfluxDB for charting in Grafana.
Obviously, the Givenergy devices communicate with their cloud and app and I will use the app to keep an eye on things but I'd really like to harvest the data for local logging in InfluxDB so I can get to the details. I'm happy to control and configure the Givenergy devices from the app.
Next year we will be buying an electric vehicle and a second one sometime after that. Ideally we would want to optimise the vehicle charging, the solar generation and our dark-hours house consumption from the Givenergy battery, mixed in with (hopefully) an EV electricity tariff. With different manufacturer's equipment being "intelligent", we may not need to control anything locally but I certainly want to be able to monitor what is happening so I can be confident that it's all working as well as it could.
So my question to you is....
How would I collect the Givenergy devices' data locally (say, every 10 seconds or when something changes) so I could monitor what is happening. I've heard of GivTCP but not what hardware it would need for communicating (existing Pi?).
