Since performing a software and firmware upgrade from a very old version, I get constant Meter Communication Errors. I have contacted the support help and I'm waiting for a reply. However, I would like to have a better understanding of this error. Is it a comms failure between the AC Coupler and my GEM120CT meter (replica of the EM115 meter) or is it a failure in comms with my standard electric consumption smart meter (Landis and GYR).
Because nothing has physically changed, has the method of communication changed or timeout changed ?

Meter Communication Error
A bit more info. I upgraded to D0.212-A0.212 and battery 3020

When I did an update in April 2024 I had a similar problem and GE had to reconfigure the inverter to get it to talk to the meter again. Since then I haven't done any more updates because my inverter and battery work perfectly and GE are no longer responsive, so I guess my system would be out of order for some time.
RacingSnake Is the system still working correctly? Likely the update has somehow made the inverter think it has another meter that doesn't actually exist. For example if you have two meters but the system is now configured for three, it will be complaining the third one isn't working.

When there is a Meter Communication Failure, the battery is not utilised. i.e. it isn't charged or at night it isn't used to power the house. When the failure is "cleared", the battery is utilised as expected.
Has the battery comms cable fallen out the plug at the bottom of the inverter. They dont have a locking tab like an RJ45 and they are not mechanically clipped to the bottom of the inverter. The weight of the cable can pull the plug out. Mine fell out and I lost comms with the battery
I have some more information. After reviewing the inverter messages and logs, GIV energy reverted to a previous firmware version and the Meter Communication Failure messages stopped being generated!!
I've asked for their development team to review this and provide a update.
I am having precisely the same problem - I am able to force a discharge of the 100% full batteries but if a stop that, they just sit there. I am hoping they will charge up tonight. GIvenergy hopeless on the whatsapp, logged a ticket by phone this aft so hoping they actually help now
