Does anyone know if it is safe to charge an Electric Vehicle from solar panels and continue to
charge the vehicle from the storage battery's once the sun has gone down.
Advice would be very much appreciated.
I am being told that you can not charge a battery from a battery.

Yep it’s safe, you can. Might not be the cheapest way to go about things though.

How do you mean not the cheepest way to go about things.
With the nicer weather solar and battery seem to be doing the job without any cost.
but i will run short in the winter months.
Could you recommend a cheaper way?
Thanks

Maz Well for instance, if you are on an EV tariff that would supply power overnight at 7p/kWh and you could export excess solar during the day at 15p/kWh, it could be financially beneficial to charge the EV overnight from the grid (and your battery at the same time) and then sell energy back at the higher rate later
