Battery to EV Charger

Hi all, I have an AIO with gateway and GivEnergy EV Charger. I only consume 40% of the AIO 13.5kWh capacity leaving 60% free. I want to use this 60% to charge my new EV car and not send it to the grid. Can anyone tell me how I achieve this as I don’t see a battery to EV Charger option. Thanks

Subge Sorry, don't know - I don't have the GE charger. But which tariff are you on? If on Go / Intelligent Go / EON Drive, it's typically more cost effective to charge EV from grid overnight for 8p/kWh or less, and then export all solar to grid for 15p/kWh or more.

Hi. I don’t have an AIO so don’t know what controls you have over it and it will also depend on how the charger is wired up in relation to the AIO. There has been discussion in other threads here about how to prevent the battery from discharging to an EV.
If you have an EV are you on a tariff like Intelligent Octopus Go? If so then have you considered the financial benefit of charging your EV off peak eg at 7p per kWH and exporting your excess solar and exporting spare battery capacity for 15p (on the Octopus export tariff). Eon do something similar I believe.

I'm guessing your EV charger is directly hooked into your gateway?

What configuration mode do you have your EV charger on?

On inverter control you can then select / deselect use prevent battery discharging to EV.

If it's set as standalone I believe the house will see it as load so should use your AIO.

Edit: EV charger configuration is under the settings tab bottom right of my screenshot.

I’m on Octopus Flux currently and want to crunch the numbers before switching to Go as because I only need to use only 40% of the AIO capacity for my daily needs my aim is to not use the Grid at all for as long as possible if feasible. Bob I did as you suggested but haven’t found a way to charge my EV from the battery yet. Ideally, during the summer, I’d like the option to Force discharge or Export to EV a percentage of my total full capacity to the EV before the system reverts back to Eco mode.
Is there anyone from GivEnergy who can feed back on this request as I’m sure others with over capacity would love this feature ?

I would try those settings I mentioned with eco mode on that way it would consider it load and the AIO with eco mode should try to cover the demand.

When I was on go I filled the AIO overnight with cheap energy and exported all my solar generation in the day. Brought energy for 8.5p and exported everything in the day for 15p. I now do the same but on octopus Intelligent Go so actually import at 7p.

I empty the AIO once a week on Sunday night so it gets a full cycle.

According to my octopus app as of this week I am fully balanced on import / export this year so far.
1555kwh in 1563kwh out.

However since march I have also had a negative bill as a benefit.
