Next week I an having a Zappi EV charger fitted to my house and the engineer said he will be fitting a Harvi wireless energy monitor. The engineer said he will replace the GE fitted CT clamp with the Harvi one and then connect the wires from the GE CT clamp to the Harvi. Has anyone else had the Zappi/GE system setup this way?

I have both GE (for my GW/AIOs) and harvi CT clamps fwiw

Ortwin I would think it safer to leave your GivEnergy system exactly as it is and fit the Zappi/Harvi energy monitor alongside it. If your engineer starts fiddling with the GE CT clamp it could cause problems with the Givenergy system, or later down the road be used as a scapegoat if anything does go wrong

Cheers for the sensible advice.
That just leaves the question of GE or zappi CT first i.e. before the other ?

Ortwin if they're on the same (logical) cable, it makes no difference - each measures the same current through the wire.
However, assuming you don't want GE battery dischargjng into the car, I'd recommend splitting the tails in such a way that myenergi CT sees all the load, but GE CT does not see the zappi's load. I have a picture of my setup I can try to post.

The Zappi CT clamp is just before the smartmeter at the top, and that is the same current all the way to the right brown block at the bottom, which taps off a supply to the zappi. Then the GE CT clamp is at the bottom, between the two brown blocks, and measures all the remaining supply (to house and inverter).

Zappi is now installed and working without the need for a Harvi. I misunderstood what the engineer had said before the install regarding the CT clamps. The top one is the GE CT, the lower one is the Zappi load CT and there is another one just above the GE RCBO in the consumer unit for the GE inverter.
Unfortunately there was a problem with wiring a RJ45 connector onto the LAN cable as each time it was crimped it caused the strands to short out so awaiting a visit to replace the cable.

Looking at the above meter cupboard layouts & mine below, I'm guessing I need some extra Henley Blocks & re-wiring to prevent my EV sucking my house batteries dry?

Looks my photo is not uploading.

Oops message just keeps on appearing. Is it me or the system?

I think it might be correct... I'm assuming the wiring for the zappi is going out through the black hose at the bottom of the picture. So it's the zappi's CT at the bottom of the picture, immediately after the smartmeter, and that's measuring the total import, which is good. Then the first brown block splits off the power to the zappi, which goes off at the bottom.

Then the GE CT clamp measures the current flowing between the two brown blocks, which is everything except what was taken by the zappi. Then that goes out of the top of the box, presuambly to the house and the GE inverter.

The second brown box isn't doing anything obviously useful. (One wire in, one wire out.) On my system, the second one is splitting the tail to the house and to the inverter, whereas I'm guessing that happens later for you.

Yes DD the inverter mains go to a RCBO in the consumer unit and then feeds out via the top brown junction box.

Try reducing the image size before uploading

Ortwin OK. Will give that a go.

I've not had issues in the past with posting pictures or graphs. I have reduced the image size twice. The lowest image size was 307KB & still no luck. Using JPEG format. I tried copying & pasting into post & using the upload button below from a saved file. All have failed & got the Oops message. Anyone have any further ideas?

Yes it tends to be intermittent that uploading a pic works for me and the usual fix is to reduce the size. Hopefully someone else have the fix.

Forgot to say the CT on the top of the RCBO is so that the Zappi can measure any export from the GE inverter and use it to charge the EV (if that is the chosen option)

Doesn't seem to be necessary - my zappi came with that, but I relocated the CT to instead measure heat pump consumption, and zappi was still able to detect net export to the grid (though I don't choose to use that to charge the car).
