Cards - Smart Tariffs (Octopus)Cloud PortalLegacy Portal

I don't need a new 'smart tariff' card for the web portal, I'm not on a smart tariff and I actually find the existing one useful. I also don't need to be told every time I look at it, that it's going to be removed and I 'NEED' to set up the new one.

By all means, add new features for those who want them, but please stop taking away existing useful ones for those of us that have no use of these new 'features'.

Instead, try fixing the data in the app or fixing the SSO so that people can actually log in and aren't send in an endless loop of trying to log in, getting a code, entering the code, getting returned to the log in, getting sent a code, entering the code, getting returned to the log in.... in a never ending loop of futility that makes me wish I'd never had a givenergy system installed to begin with.

Fix what's already broken, before introducing more new features to break shortly after.

Sorry to say you are talking to the wrong people.
This sit is just owners/users trying to help each other.
I don't think GivEnergy read this and/or do anything about the comments

Anomnomnomaly Sadly I agree - the new tariff card seems only to be configured for Octopus and I don't use Octopus for electricity so am not sure how this will work in the future for me.
The current card is really usefull as I can get a good idea of import and export figures over varying time periods. Additionally, I don't have an Agile tariff so don't need the capability that is being delivered in that card.

All-in-all it feels like a step backwards for me

Yes you are so correct. I too find the current Smart Tariff (now called Legacy) card very useful. I am with Octopus Agile. It actually reports very accurately for me my usage and spend.

The new card only seems about automation which I am not interested in. I loaded the new card but I could see from the configuration questions it was not for me so I removed it again. Therefore, in August one of the very few cards that actually does work correctly will be withdrawn.

Come on Givenergy Leave The Current Smart Card Available as an option.

Id be more interested in you fixing all the other bugs in the Portal, App, and the EV charger card for instance.

As you say in hindsight I wish I had never had a Givenergy System Installed.

The old Smart Tariff card is the only thing on the portal I use on a daily basis. I cannot see how to get the same information from the new Smart Tariff card and I don't want or need any of the automation functionality (as I've invested in other solutions). Very disappointing.

So what is this Smart Tariff card?

On my App, Home Dashboard, at 10 o'clock is light bulb and £0.00 then Overview is just Income Now £0 breakdown also both £0. I have never tired to sort this one out. It that the Smart Card?

The other feature that I can never remember working is the Home function. The Away function works and does what I want so I haven't tried to activate the Home function either.

This forum is still the one that is linked in the web portal and the phone app, but is not the "official" one going forwards.
This is the one that is being "promoted" for us all to use, though whether anyone at Givenergy reads it, I cannot comment. https://community-beta.givenergy.cloud/

SteveCook This is the one that is being "promoted" for us all to use, though

Oh... I've not seen any such promotion..?

Nor I have I seen anything like a formal announcement, but I just remember reading on here about 6 months ago that this forum would eventually end and that the one I linked to in beta would become the one we should use.
If I save the forum I linked above, the title it gives itself in my browser is "GivEnergy Community Forum - GivEnergy Official Forum"

SteveCook Whereas the portal and the webpage address suggest this is the "official" one and the other one is some sort of test 🙂

SteveCook The beta forum has been around for a couple of years. Which is quite a long time to be beta-testing anything. (It was never clear whether it was a beta-test for the forum software, or a forum for discussing beta-test inverter software.)

SJB I deleted the Octopus API access for the portal/GE and just to be sure regenerated the API on the Octopus website.

I'd suggest everyone else does the same if you're unhappy with the change. I did it because there's no way I'm trusting the GE portal with automations on Agile so the simplest way to be SURE is to revoke their keys. Best of luck to anyone brave enough to try.

Just loaded all my data onto it. Unless you want automation on it's useless, why can't it function like the legacy card. It breaks the old legacy one which was a great rule of thumb for how well the export tariff was working for reducing my bills. Looks like I'll just stick with the Octopus figures.
