Power Cut

Hi, apologies if this has already been discussed, but earlier this week we had a scheduled power cut for grid maintenance, and I sort of half expected my mains supply to run from the Givenergy battery, which was fully charged, I was disappointed. I remember asking the installer this very question when going through their quote and they confirmed power would be supplied from the battery in the event of an outage. Obviously the internet went down with the power outage. Am I missing some settings or is that it, no power.

Details as requested, Battery GivEnergy 5.2Kwh LiFeP04, Inverter GivEnergy 3.6kW (Gen 1) Hybrid PV inverter.

This may be too obvious, but have you checked that EPS is enabled in your data settings?

When grid goes off, so does your inverter so you do not feed power into the grid if anyone is working upstream of your system on the grid trying to fix the grid.
Your inverter has an EPS output which can be setup to feed limited power in the event of grid off- without feeding this back to the grid, but it does your system to have a dedicated TT earth for the property and be setup by your installer at installation stage. Have a read

A grid tied inverter has to follow the grid voltage so if there is a power cut, the inverter has to stop producing AC power to the grid. It can still charge the battery from any solar PV but AC going to the grid has to be zero.
The Gen1 inverter can provide emergency power to a separate EPS circuit in the event of a power cut.
Also, the EPS circuit is powered by the grid during normal operation.

I adjusted some of my house circuits and have a consumer unit on the EPS output. The CU feeds gas boiler and pump, lounge lights and sockets (TV skybox) kitchen fridge and freezer, socket for router, smoke detectors and burglar alarm. Total power about 600w, so well inside EPS rating.
In event of mains failure we can sit in the warm and watch TV. If we want cup of tea, I have to boil a pan on the gas cooker
