A different power cut issue - not reconnecting to PV energy

Like a previous poster we had a scheduled power cut for several hours today. I isolated the GivEnergy system and closed it down. Now that mains is back and everything is up and running the inverter is functioning but apparently not receiving any energy from the panels. (Needles to say, it is a sunny day)

You can see from this screen shot the time out of action, with the level SOC, when power returned but the absence of PV power

Are the DC breakers turned to the on position. They are on the strings from the inverter to the PV panels.

Thanks for the suggestions. I restarted the panel inverted and normality resumed.

Well...
We seem to have a set up that I don't see anyone else talking about! I don't know if our (GivEnergy accredited) installer over-engineered things three years ago or if this is fact normal...

We have a Giv-AC3.0 AC-coupled inverted with originally two, now three, 5.2ish batteries. But in addition, the 19 panel 6.84kW SolarEdge array first feeds into a SolarEdge 4000W inverter (Model SE4000H). It was this inverter that was behaving oddly after the mains outage (it had been isolated). I switched it off and on again(!) and normality resumed.

So the PV panels feed into the Solar Edge inverter and the GivEnergy inverter only deals with the batteries and are not in fact connected to solar production in any way.
Dont know what the yellow line is on your graph above, unless you have an EM115 clamp around the output on your Solar Edge inverter

SteveCook I have a very similar setup with an AC 3.0, 2x 5.2kWh batteries and a Solaredge 6000 inverter for the 17 panel solar array (6.7kWp). The yellow reading comes from a second Solar EM115 which has a connection to the GE inverter. Dropping to zero like that seems to have been some sort of internal trip in the SE inverter. I've not seen this with mine. I wonder if it is related to the number of panels connected to the inverter which is considerably less powerful than the array can produce.

As SE use optimisers you usually connect as many panels as you can to one string and let the optimisers set the string voltage (just under 400v so with 19 panels that would be around 21v per optimiser/panel with equal solar irradiation). The optimiser is a DC to DC converter that adjusts its input and output voltages for peak panel and inverter efficiencies managing around 99% conversion (1% losses).

yep - and I guess that's how the GivEnergy inverter keeps a record of PV generation.

The panels are two strings - East and West - and total generation at any time is very seldom clipped by the SE inverter

Thanks for the diagram - it might give me insight into how my system is actually all connected. Elements of that have always been a mystery to me.

GribinIsaf Even with a split array like this the use of optimisers would still allow you to use one string as the optimisers adjust for peak efficiency from each panel - even those in shade. But I also have 2 pairs of DC cables going into my SE inverter so, even though my array points SW, I may actually have 2 strings too.

Edit: Just checked the optimiser voltages and they add up to 750v so I do have 2 strings of 375v.

GribinIsaf That long flat between 11am and 6pm looks suspiciously like stuck values (solar is never like that) so it does look like the inverter had crashed and a reboot was necessary. I have a separate AC isolator for each inverter so can turn them off individually to gain control of them. In fact I recently had bird proofing added to the array so switched off the solar inverter isolator but kept the battery inverter on and powering the house for 6 hours.
