Eco Mode stopped working

In the two and a half years of having my system running, I have always had it in Eco Mode and everything has been fine. Last night, exactly at Midnight, with the battery at 51% it decided to charge up to 100% from the grid and now will not use the battery to power the house.

I have tried disabling and re-enabling Eco Mode, but that doesn't make any difference.

If I set the battery to manually discharge, though, that works as expected.

It seems like a config issue, as it kicked in at exactly midnight last night, but I cannot see any settings that may have caused it. Anybody got any clues?

Do you have a timed charge window enabled? The ol' "reset to defaults" button might be your friend here.

semachthemonkey there was someone else reported something similar recently - one of the charge timer end times had spontaneously become non-zero, with a start time defaulting to 0 (midnight).

While it's within a timed charge period, it won't discharge the battery.

Thanks both.

No there was no charge timer (or charged export) enabled. I did try setting and un-setting them, as well as the Reset To Defaults but no difference.

I have also tried updating the battery firmware which was a few numbers out of date. Other than changing the level from 100% to 0%, which slowly rose (without additional grid electricity) back to 100% again, this has also made no difference.

If you force an export in this way, to drop a few percent, does it immediately charge back up to 100% afterwards?

Do you have any external agent running (eh home assistant), or does just run standalone ?

Did you check the activity log on the portal for any unexpected changes?

Yay! Looks like it is fixed now!

The initial charging to 100% from the grid at midnight on Sunday turned out to be a scheduled Battery SOC Calibration. I don't know how often this happens, but I don't think I have seen that before, so I was a bit worried. I tried to "fix" it by changing the mode to discharge and back to Eco Mode. However, (purely speculation here) that seems to mean that the calibration didn't complete, and this prevented the battery being used in Eco Mode.

Today I scheduled a battery calibration and left it to run. That seems to have fixed things.

[unknown] You should notification messages on the portal and messages send to your phone when a calibration is taking place. I do

SteveCook Yeah, I agree it should give notification. Sadly it didn't.
