Is it just me or are there noticeably less posts? Does this mean that
A people are having less problems
B buying less GE gear
C gone on holiday
D GE are sorting issues quickly

Also the posts that are there seem less and less relevant to me. I’ve got a 9.5 battery, 5kw gen1 inverter, panels, ASHP @ EV so a reasonable spread of interests in green stuff.

I don't think it's you, Simon. In addition to your reasons above:
There is also another forum here: https://community-beta.givenergy.cloud/. It's still called beta, but I suspect some folk are moving onto it.
Maybe the latest BMS firmware has finally cracked the SOC drift issues to a point where folk stop talking about it.
Maybe folk are getting more savvy about the kit?
If we could just have the rapid response inverter firmware pushed out to the Gen 1 early adopters, I reckon most of the questions on this forum would be genuine user-user self help.

I'm on the other forum but it seems even less lively. I think you may be right about the soc thing though

It'll get busier in winter when people aren't as busy outside......

Long dark winter evenings flying by as the complaints build up!

Also during the summer the batteries get fully charged from solar and drained well overnight so the SOC tracking is less of an issue. In the winter when batteries only get half charged by solar in the day the SOC will start to creep if not fixed!

Another gen1 inverter here waiting for the promised firmware update to be released........

It does kinda feel like effort is being focused elsewhere, we had periods with loads of beta firmwares, actual releases etc. Feels like that has all slowed down, ok, things ar emore stable but wiht a lot of modern harware they can be constantly updated and pushed, new features tested etc.

There were plenty of posts last summer. Starting to think maybe things have actually improved

SimonClarke Certainly the SOC problems I was having are not apparent in Battery Firmware Version 3020. My two batteries track very well and no sudden changes in SOC. I think I may have lost a few % of storage in the process though (I can live with that if I don't suddenly end up with 0% or 100% as before).

Most will be on solar for the majority of the time & thankfully that part of the systems seem robust.
Not sure how they are doing install rate these days, a meaningless observation but on the UK solar fb group they don't seem as popular as they used to be.

It's taken a long time to get there, but BMS 12 on the AIO has pretty much fixed my SoC issues.
(a lot less to complain about now)

BMS 12 does a top-up charge of the battery when it sits near 100% SoC so it doesn't suffer from slowly losing track of the charge compared to previous versions, that's probably the biggest difference.

From my gut feeling and totally not factual information, I suspect GE has fallen off a lot of installers' kit option due to the past issues, as well as all the new players in the market that offer similar or better features.

I have moved to Intelligent Octopus Flux and therefore Predbat is just sitting there watching. As am I. Therefore all quiet here in sunny Essex.

For me, it's A. It's been over 10 months since I bought AIO + Gateway, everything is fine and polished. My monthly electricity bills have dropped to £20s, from +£120 before moving to smart tariff and buying the battery. 100% happy.

I’ve posted less because of C. Answered my own question!

I'm not posting because I haven't much to say. I have Home Assistant running to control the GE system, and that's been working well since October 2024. The rules need tweaking every now and again, but that's no biggie, and I recently installed some inverter cooling fans controlled by Home Assistant via Zigbee switches to turn on and off depending on inverter temperature.
All is currently well. I hope it stays that way as I dread needing to contact GE support.

Would I install GE kit again, knowing what I know now? That's a tough one and depends on whether I think GE as a company can get their act together and support their customers properly again. Right now, that's 50/50.

All OK at the moment but I absolutely dread something going wrong. Probably jinxed it saying that 🙁
