Battery export to grid during evening

I have 2 x 5kw batteries, and expect these to run house from around 6pm through to next morning. Yet I find I am exporting 50% to grid during evening and then importing energy from grid after midnight when batteries down to 10% . Why! I don’t want I export when the sun is down! And I don’t want t pay for grid after midnight until sunup. What going on I haven’t changed any settings and have never set up export times .
Who is making these decisions ? Who or what system is exporting without my say

Ianwilso Has it spontaneously started doing this, or has it been doing it for a while ?

The obvious suggestion is that, somehow, a timed export has been configured. You could have a look in the activity log on the web portal - you can get to it from the inverter page, at the bottom of the remote control page.

Looking back at an older post, you did have a cheap overnight tariff - has that changed now ?

Ianwilso Are you using the new smart tariff card in the portal? That will take over your battery and charge during the cheap rate.

It gets worse now according to energy graph I am generating between 0.46kwh and 0.21kwh every 30 minutes from 8pm until midnight.
Just read on notifications something about string inverters having energy graph issues. Darn right we are. It's a load of un trustworthy rubbish. Added to that it appears the app and the cloud site are no longer compatible with old ios os (eg 15.8.4) . So many Web sites and apps are now not supporting older ios. Shame ! So we all have fall into the apple and Microsoft trap of constant purchases
Rant over when you going to fix energy graphs givenergy?

DD going by energy graphs or at least last 3 weeks. Regularly about 2.5 - 3kwh per evening

Ianwilso ... so what do the activity logs say?

Ianwilso On the GivEnergy cloud (web portal) click on My Inverter - then click the Remote Control (cog icon). Check that 'Enable DC Discharge' option is OFF. Use the refresh option to check the state of the option.
If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find the Remote Control History. You should be able to see who set the Enable DC Discharge to on. If it wasn't you via the App or Portal Remote Control then someone or something else has control of your system.
I use Home Assistant with a GivTCP addon to get my data and manage my inverter. This shows up in the history as Server and External change detected.

I think there has been an issue since around May. On my system it looks like battery to home is being reported as generation to home, but also being reported as battery to grid! Live stats always look fine, so I don't think it's a ct clamp issue. Reporting is just dodgy, wish we could get the raw data somehow as it's messing up all my spreadsheets.

NormC checked cloud inverter and only got ECo enabled all else off , but I’m seeing numerous reports of energy graph errors

DD yes I was using cheap rate over ight battery charge during winter , but of course now disabled. Only thing enabled on inverter is ECo

Ianwilso One thing to bear in mind is that the app/portal typically show you what they last sent to the inverter, not necessarily what is on the inverter. On the remote control page, there's a button for each setting to force a read from the inverter.
