Not strictly Givenergy but hope an expert here can comment.

A couple of times recently I have noticed the ASHP running. The Daikin is set to heat to 22° and the HW is showing 41.
Heating is scheduled however the room temp is 26 and the display also shows 26.5. HW is scheduled OFF.

Why is the ASHP running?

I'm following this thread because I had a Daikin heat pump installed only last week.

No idea why it is running but can’t you put it on dhw only?

[unknown] Is it actually heating, or just circulating the water ?

There is an installer-mode setting where you can set an outside temperature over which it doesn't bother heating. I think mine is 17 degrees or something ?

You can choose to configure the heating to be entirely driven by the weather compensation curver rather than using the room thermostat. I found the latter mode to be rather too crude. (2 degrees of hysteresis is a bit too much, really.)

Are the rads warm? Temperature has been around 24 degrees in the lounge with no heating on for months due to the summer weather. It's cooler outside but the fabric of the building is still warm.

Curious, maybe it is just a water circulating thing. No huge draw as you expect with the heating cycle. Maybe it is just a regular operation to ensure it does not get gunged up in one position.

[unknown] Does it have some sort of auto pasteurization cycle built in that it has to run every now and again

SteveCook I don't know, but it is running 4-5 nights per week for HW. I have asked Daikin.

Could be a pump only run program to keep it from gunking up. I'm not familiar with Daikin control strategies but some makes have this to prevent the pump from seizing in prolonged periods of inactivity. That said, if it's still running to produce DHW during the summer then this shouldn't be required.
Is it just the circulation pump running or is the outdoor fan running as well?

[unknown] hygiene cycle?

Roy124 hygiene cycle seem plausible

Daikin asked for my pump model. Short answer, we don't know. I need to 'catch' it and note all the settings and conditions.
