Thanks to the frozen snow, PV generation is poor even with the sun out. Does anyone do anything to clear the snow off or do you just leave it in the hope it melts soon?

Leave it to melt, it melts pretty quickly and will slide off even quicker than it melts.

THALL I would usually agree with you but today it stayed frozen all day, only 800w generated today... Made me sad 🤣

chris_p I have been brushing off the lower panels for the last 9 years when i have snow. I can reach it cos its on my garage roof.

Doing that means the weight of snow on the top string loses some off the anchor effect of the lower string and it just slides down and off.

Did it this morning nd went from zero generation to 500w almost immediately.

mjkelly5a Yeah I think it is worth it as it was sunny yesterday but cold so it never defrosted. I can't reach mine so I was tempted to try a fine spray from my hose pipe to try gently melting the snow but not sure if that would have an adverse effect...

I'm wondering that too, when we actually get snow that is, I'm sure I can aim the nozzle across the bottom edge of the panels. I'm in a 2 storey semi detached and no ladders to speak of so would be aiming blind with the curtain twitchers gawking at me wondering what the mental case is up to this time. I would wonder if it would be better to just leave to thaw and slide off of its own accord?
