I have the Givenergy EV Charger I wish I didn't but that's another story. Anyhow I sent Octopus an email asking them why it was taking so long to approve the charger. In return they set me back a form to9 fill in to request interest in a particular charger being certified.
So if you all fill in the form we might have a better chance.

duplada I was thinking of getting one installed so you only have to deal with a single app.
I filled the form in and it says my vehicle is compatible and could go no further.
Is the any particular problem with the GE EV charger?
For me there is as I have a dual AIO system and its not compatible, none of the advanced features work such as don't drain the batteries and Solar Hybrid options.
I have a GE EV charger and it works fine with the GE app. I have GE Gen 3 inverter and GE battery. Octopus allowed me to use the Intelligent Go tariff because my EV is compatible ie supported by Octopus. Either the EV, charger or both need to be supported. So I use the scheduler in the GE app to charge the EV and house battery between 23:30 and 05:30 ie the off-peak window. What doesn’t work is the smart scheduling of charging controlled by Octopus so I am missing out on some charging they might schedule that is outside of the off-peak window. That’s not a big deal for me but I’ll have a go a filling the form in to try to encourage Octopus to support the GE charger.
Tried the interactive form. As soon as I entered the car type it said it was supported and directed me to the getting the IOG tariff. Didn’t get as far as any option to request GE charger support.
Are all these inherent problems with the design or will fixable by software updates?
I don't want a repeat of the Ohme/OVO mess.
With already installed AIO and Gateway it appears to be a matter of connecting the EV to the block in the Gateway.

Sorry. I don’t know anything about AIOs. Maybe someone with AIO and GE charger will comment on their experience.
As far as I understand it if you have a single AIO and Gateway the EV charger works fine the software is still clunky but more or less works. If you like me have 2 AIO's and a Gateway the EV software does not work well at all. Dual AIO's setups do not support the Battery Charge and Discharge Power portal commands which is what the EV charger uses to control drain from the batteries and also control between values of solar / grid / battery if you have any of the more advanced Hybrid / Solar options selected. So in short no matter what you have the EV software set to do on a dual AIO system it just doesn't work it just takes the charge from GE batteries.
The only way to get the EV charger to take power from the grid for instance is to pause discharge the battery from the portal prior to commencing the EV charge, or start to charge the house batteries prior to starting the EV charge. However, if you have a dual AIO system setting the home batteries to charge will start importing at 12kWh (52amps approx) then you fire up the EV charger and add another 7kWh (32amps). You are now over the Gateway Limit of 80amps, and if anyone goes near a kettle the Gateway will overload, all the power in the house goes off, and you will; be spending the next few hours talking to support (that's if you can get through) to get the system restarted again. I have been there done that, not fun.
I have an email from Givenergy stating that the EV charger is not supported with Dual AIO's pity they didn't put that information in the EV charger advertisements. They promised me that they will be updating the EV firmware to correct this issue. However, after chasing them daily for over 2 months I am still waiting to hear when this firmware update is likely to be.
My advice is buy another brand of charger if you have or are considering installing dual AIO's
In the old initial days of IG I get the need to sort.
Today though unless your really plan to heavily make use of extended time in charge schedule or have some special export rate over competitors, there are plenty of TOU deals out there which dont require you to use an API and dance to their tune, in any way to get a cheaper rate than even Octopus IG.
So unless you really will lose out there is a quicker way to get a cheaper rate than waiting on your charger to be accepted.
Connect the EV charger on the grid side of the AIO/Gateway/CT then it won't be seen as house load and will charge from the grid without the AIOs knowing about it...
yes that is an option buy my installer wants close to £500 for coming out to do the job.
DreadorUK What you write is true but I was hoping to get the cheaper rate out of Octopus as I find their customer service really really good. So since I import around 15,000kWh per annum the £150 would be better in my account rather than theirs.
The zappi worked well with multiple power walls, which is AC coupled like the AIO.
Other option could be to use hone assistant to pause the AIO discharge against the IoG discharge slots.

First complaint they didn't touch till it went to ombudsman - second complaint was handled by the person I was complaining about.
