Router change but unable to reset WiFi settings in IOS

Changed router/broadband from old BT to Full Fibre Vodafone several months ago - so old SSID/password not now available to use.

However, followed the instructions in the 'GivEnergy' app to update the dongles WiFi settings and so downloaded the 'Givinstaller' on my iPhone (with latest IOS) as instructed.
Opened the 'Givinstaller' app and as instructed selected the 'Update WiFi Details' option as suggested in the instructions but was unable to see how to scan the dongle of Invertor barcode so could get no further.
Also tried to login to 'GivEnegy' app from within the installer but my credentials were rejected although they allow me to login OK on a browser.
Is it me? Followed all instructions (they are fairly limited) and still cannot update the WiFi details.

Any help/tips would be appreciated - I've looked at most posts on this subject but still cannot see a way forward to carry out what should be a simple task!

Can you login to your new router and change/save the SSID and password to that of the old router. That way all your other devices will connect..

Tried to clear that point up in the first paragraph Steve as the router was sent back to BT some months ago and no note was made of the details - for some reason, I thought the dongle worked on the mobile phone network!

Ah sorry. I assumed that the old SSID was no longer available as the old router was in a box in the garage/shed/loft.

I remember when I updated my dongle, I had to press the reset button on the dongle it and then use my mobile phone to connect to the dongle and follow the instructions to put SSID and p/word into the dongle using the phone. Then the dongle connected to my network

I guess its worth a try Steve as theres nothing to lose, did you have to enter any login details to use your phone or just locate it on the network somehow? If I try it and fail, will it leave it open for any one in range to get into it!

I think you will need the default dongle password and/or any details you may have changed if you ever reset your dongle security.
I think it might be admin and admin. See image #2

So, now I know - it has a SIM card!

Now to find out what to do next! I have that sinking feeling!

A dongle with a SIM card?
What inverter do you have.
Is there a LAN port ? You may need to change dip switch settings
