I have tried all sorts of things to reconnect the dongle. Any one else had this issue and overcome it?
Tried resetting, restarting, removing, replacing all to no avail.
Thanks,
Mitch.

There's lots of threads here on dongle connections (!). Have you tried using a phone to scan for available wireless networks? If there's an AP with an SSID starting WHxxx that's likely to be your dongle. That will at least let you know it's transmitting. Then try using the computer to connect to that SSID, and (preferably) give it a fixed network address...
If you're using the app you could try going into Settings / Local Monitoring and Scan for your inverter (that'll likely be a FDxxx serial no). If it finds it it'll give the IP address and the option to save that address on the app.
Depending on where your inverter is located, it might be too far away from your PC / phone to register (it's not a very strong signal), so it may be worth trying a wifi extender?

As ChrisLav says there are lots of threads. One thing is to make sure the network is only broadcasting at 2.4GHz i.e. turn off 5 GHz at the router for the duration of reconnecting to the dongle. Follow the GE instructions and it will (eventually after a few retries maybe) connect. Then turn 5GHz back on.

Also make sure your 2.4GHz network is not on band 12 or 13. The old GE WIFI dongles only go up to channel 11.

For 2.4GHz WiFi, only channels 1, 6 and 11 are both legal in the UK and non-overlapping.
