Changed Charge Profile since 3020 / D0.212-A0.212 Firmware Update

So since updating my AC 3 inverter and two batteries to the new firmware my charging profile has changed.

Before the update as I am IOG I had the batteries set up to charge from 23:30pm to 01:00 and then discharge until 02:30 before doing a final 3 hours of charging until 5:30 when the higher rates kick in.

Since the update 3 hours is not enough to charge the batteries back to full as they get throttled back at 04:00 and a trickle charge from then until 5:30.

There was one exception to this yesterday when the batteries woke up at 5:07 and started to get a bigger charge and did hit nearly 100% by 5:30

Of course I tried just charging from 23:30 one night and the batteries hit full around 01:30

So with this change I am going to miss out on some £ earning potential as I need to ensure the batteries are full to get me through the shorter days...

Has anyone else noticed this new charge cycle and found any work arounds?

P.s. Just decided to shorten the discharge time by 30 minutes and increase final charge time to see if that is enough to get it back to near 100%. Will test the next few days...

I forget when exactly but certainly 3020 AND newer inverter FW doesn't charge at full rate to 100% anymore. It winds back charge rates for the last 10% from memory so it'll be on a go slow for the last 10%.

I wish it was the last 90%!!

It stops at around 70% and not above 74% after another hour...

I have a feeling I am an edge case as I have a 5.2 and a 2.6 and they just can't get it right. The 5.2 hits 100% while the 2.6 rarely gets above 90% and there is a big gap until the 2.6 catches up.

For folk with matching batteries it might work better...

I certainly would not recommend different battery sizes for anyone looking to buy in the future...

M_J is the cabling from one battery to the other particularly long? I've never been a massive fan of the daisy chain battery approach as what the inverter kicks out at its terminals and what the last battery in the chain see can be quite different.

I did think that the newer firmware had the sense to keep asking for more charge if any pack wasn't quite full but that doesn't sound to be happening?

No they are nearly touching one another...

I just think the firmware logic is not working well for me with disparate battery sizes.

Anyway tonight will see if giving it an extra half hour will work...

OK so last night with an extra 30 mins the system showed it hitting 100% at 5:10

It did bob along in the 70% range from 3:09 to 4:55 when it took off again on steeper slope.

I don't know of a way of seeing the two batteries individual data on the web site but the GE App shows that info. So looking at them the

5.2 Battery hit 100% at 5:10 but stopped at 72% from around 3:09 to 4:55

2.6 Battery only got to 90% at 5:10 and at 3:09 was 71% but did not plateau and had a gradual climb bar a small plateau at 80% around 4:00

Previous to the firmware upgrade I could set the battery to 33% charge rate and have it from 5% at 2:30 to 100% by 4:25

hoggy is there any dependence between battery and inverter firmware? Can they sit at different versions without causing issues between one another?
