night charging

I normally take a proportion of charge at night using the cheap rate power, in the summer I don't like to take too much to allow my solar to store as much as possible. about 2 weeks ago Octopus my provider asked some customer to take as much power for free as possible one as part of a trial. So I changed the settings from my usual summer rate of 20% up to 100% . I have 2, 9.5Kwh batteries which were duly full the next morning. This was fine except now although I have reverted my setting back to 20% it is still charging every night to 100%. I have tried everything upping and reducing the charge level but despite the sc teen promising this has been written to the inverter is still charges 100%. I have turned everything off and on again , any other answers

Exfarmer Have a look at the remote control page on the web portal. (Dashboard -> inverter then it's the gears icon in the top right.) This gives a lower-level view of the control registers than the app offers.

At the top, one setting is 'enable AC Charge upper % Limit'. This should be on, otherwise it always charges to 100%. And below that there's 'AC Charge Upper % Limit' which you'll want to be at 20%. But (depending on your inverter model and firmware) there may be additional charging slots further down. (Either follow the 'Charge/Discharge Schedules' link at the top, or just scroll down.) Eg I have 10 different charging slots, each with its own upper charge limit. I'm not sure which takes precedence if the one at the top is different. (I use slot #2 for my overnight charge, so I've forgotten how slot #1 behaves now.)

It's also worth remembering that this page tends to shows the values it last sent, rather than actually reading the inverter. Each setting has a little circular arrow which you can use to force a refresh. Or just set the value away from the one you actually want, then set it correctly - that will force a write.

In the web dashboard expand My Inverter, click on the Remote Control icon, find ​"AC Charge Upper % Limit" and click on the refresh icon next to it.

After that has completed change the value as desired and click the Send icon which should appear when the value has changed.
