Looking for best SEG & Import Tariff combo

Have been with Tomato since February and making the most of their 5p/kwh cheap import from 1-6am, but Octopus have recently moved me from their 15p/kwh onto a 4p/kwh Tariff.
Looking at Octopus they don't seem to have a decent import tariff unless you have an EV and their Agile prices seem much higher than they used to be added to quite a high standing charge.

I'm therefore not making much money with the export of Solar, and given winter will soon be upon us, I'm thinking about moving ready for the Spring, also concerned that Tomato could soon come to an end!

Anyway, what/who are other people with - I'm looking for a decent 'low' price overnight that doesn't need an EV and a fair export rate, and would appreciate people's thoughts?

I don't know if the latest Eon tariffs work the same way but although marketed as EV tarifs they have allowed people with solar and batteries to join even if they do not have an EV. The latest EV tariff is Nextdrive V10 and is 7.5p overnight (6 hours) and 29.82p the rest if the day with a 16.5p export rate. The standing charge will of course depend on where you live.

It may be worth giving them a call.

pwdst They always have. Eon permitted people to use the EV tariffs if they had solar/battery but that was never reflected in their T&Cs, meaning they could boot you off the tariff anytime they felt like it (and potentially charge you).

There are NO tariffs from any of the major suppliers for battery owners. Agile is the only one which comes close but even then you're subsidising the Octopus EV tariffs.

pwdst The T&Cs have always said EV only, but allowed domestic battery owners to join in. So, it may be worth a phone call by the OP to see if that is still the case.

I was with EON until recently when they refused to renew my EV tariff due to no EV. I have now moved to EDF, higher unit costs but smaller standing charges so one of cheapest I could find for my set-up. AC3 and 2x 8.2.
They didi phone me up after moving to ask me why I had left !

Cheers all, I may give Eon a ring, may get away with it, not much of a decent smart tariff out there that balances import and export.
If Tomato survive, I may stick with them as it's such a great overnight cost with low standing charge

Seems you've been fortunate to get away with 15p over the summer, since that rate is reserved for import customers. Perhaps it matters less at this time of year, since you probably have less to export.

Yes you are very lucky to have been paid 15p for export with Octopus. It’s a mistake on their part. I wouldn’t be surprised if they rebill you for the correct SEG rate, and they’ll probably point to the terms and conditions as justification.
