Hi I have been waiting for someone to adust a setting in the software to shorten the change over delay but no one from Giv is interested. I have tried the new what's app but I am always in a queue and no one gets back to you.
Am I the only one with this problem.

TonyHR9 when you say “battery to grid delay”, what are you meaning?
Is it the time for the inverter to switch over to EPS mode when you have a grid supply failure? That can be changed yourself if you have Home Assistant, otherwise it will need GivEnergy or maybe your installer to change the setting.
If its the time it takes for the battery to respond to changing load and swap between grid import/export and battery charge/discharge, then there isn’t a config for that, its down to the firmware version. Newer firmwares are faster at responding.
You just have to persevere with GivEnergy support, they are very overloaded.
geoffreycoan not OP, but I have this same question. When there’s a loss of grid power, the battery takes over in the blink of an eye. When power resumes from the grid, everything goes off for 5seconds before the battery takes over. It’s driving me nuts. GivEnergy support says this is normal?

No.
I have EPS setup and it takes about 15s to kick in after grid failure.
I believe there is a setting where the response can be seamless - like a UPS but GivEnergy need to do this remotely.
Why is is it driving you nuts? Are you getting lots of grid failures? Have you got some critical equipment?
Maybe buy a mini UPS?

It’s tripping my house alarm (3 times last night between 3 and 6am).
I’ll get the house alarm changed, but hoped that it would be seamless, like a UPS but for the whole house (without a delay / minimal delay in the seconds rather than seconds)
LeeG does your alarm have its own backup battery? Mine used to ring every time there was a power cut because I hadn't realised the battery had to be replaced every few years (Losing alarm functionality when power is turned off is a bit of a flaw...)
I think you might be on to something there! I’ve never changed it and it does have a battery… (bloody thing).
To be honest, the alarm can get replaced anyway.
The confirmation from this thread that it’s normal to have a delay to EPS flicking on and off, is great. I was worried something wasn’t working correctly with my setup (just under 2 years old)

If your lead acid alarm battery has been left in place for many years please wear gloves whilst removing it as the case might have cracked.
