I have 5kw inverter but my Grid Export Limit can only be set to 3680W, I have contacted via phone / email / WhatsApp and still waiting for a response for a number of days (very frustrating) as the support look to be overloaded.

I have the same setup as my friend and his Grid Export Limit can be set to 5000W

I would imagine this being user accessible that this is a sub-limit based on what the inverters true export limit has been set to (for Grid Code reasons end users are not allowed to play with the global export limit as it allows you to bypass whatever restriction your DNO has applied)
So basically, only Givenergy or your installer can change it - although I'd contact installer first as they are probably more likely to respond and also if it's set wrong it's technically their fault anyway as it's part of the commissioning process setting it.

For a G99 install (where you seek permission before installation) you should have a commissioning letter from the DNO stating your export limit. This should have been provided by the installer in the handover pack. Something like this

If your installer used G98 notify after install and not G99 prior approval with a higher limit then your inverter will be limited to exporting 3.6k8W and this is not user changeable as you would not be compliant with the limits set by your DNO.
You would need to request a higher limit from the DNO and get your installer back to change the software limitation.
Your handover pack should have details of what your DNO has agreed to.
Unless the restriction was added in error it is likely that this limitation is by design (and would not be a fault even if your installer made a mistake).

pwdst A G99 was used for this installation

I wonder if a G98 limit is the factory default and your installer didn't set it correctly. Have you tried contacting them with the issue? If only because GivEnergy are seemingly less than responsive.

Even if a G99 application was used, you could still have been limited to 3.6kW export, as the decision depends on the local situation. If many of your neighbours already have solar panels, they are more likely to impose the lower limit to protect the local infrastructure. The only way to know is to check your paperwork or ask your installer. GivEnergy are not going to know.

pwdst I have had the installer check the install config, think its a bug with the system

If it's not an obvious G98 issue then unfortunately there probably isn't an awful lot other users can do to help you with this. Good luck with support, I hope you aren't waiting too long for a response.

RexShack can you check what is on your G99 response from the DNO? Your installer should have given you this, and GivEnergy will need to see it if you think your export limit is set wrongly

If for any reason you cannot find the DNO response ours was very helpful when we needed to ask a question about our installation. I imagine they should be able to provide you with a copy and/or tell you how you can apply for a higher export limit.
