I have a GivEnergy system (Gen1 Hy 5.0, 9.5 battery and 14 panels), it has been in 4 years without issue, though I do see other people with problems on this forum.. I have an older SolarEdge system (Inverter and 13 panels). Last Friday my SE portal showed a generation issue, even though it was sunny. SolarEdge have a support portal page and I logged the issue on Friday afternoon. I guess they can login to my inverter remotely and check things out. This morning I received an email saying my inverter is covered by the warranty and a replacement is being sent.
GivEnergy please take note of customer service.
SolarEdge support

SteveCook That's pleasing to know.
I have a SolarEdge inverter and 17 panels (all with optimisers). 29 months old and has been flawless so far.
Did your SE app show you the panel status and which ones weren't generating?

My SE panels are on a flat garage roof on plastic bins with a 15 deg inclination. The DC string connectors are inside the bins. Last xmas we had a lot of snow and the bin drain holes were blocked. A couple of the DC string connectors were lying in the trapped water. The installer came and checked/dried them out and I moved the sand ballast bags around in the bins so all the string connectors sat on top of the ballast bags well clear of the water. That fixed that issue.
We had a lot of rain last Thursday night and I expected the same thing, though checking all were dry. The installer logged in remotely and said all panels were paired and giving good voltage. It looks like the DC/AC inverter has died.

Well. Replacement/warranty SolarEdge inverter arrived on Tuesday without me having to chase them. I fitted it, but did not turn it on. Installer came today and used his app to assign new inverter to my account. All now working without much drama. I want another battery to add to my 9.5 but having thoughts about not using a GivEnergy one based on the feedback of others on this forum
