Yesterday morning I clicked on the pylon on the home screen to review the import/export from this morning. Even before it was light I had an export reading of 27Kw and batteries at 96%. I then went on the portal and it showed zero export. So that's another email to GE technical.
Android app showing massive export reading but no export
The app's been wrong for about 6 months in terms of the daily graph. I've raised queries and nothings been done. The daily totals seemed vaguely plausible until 2 days ago. though
This morning I checked it and it showed I had exported 4.8kWh, hmm how is this possib;e when its at 7.30am in the late autumn and there is no sunshine and I only have a 5.2kwH battery? It showed the house consumption since midnight of 0.1kWh between 5 and 5.30am and nothing else so apparently I had a power cut which obviously wasn't the case. Then when I started using a bit of electricity suddenly the solar generation at 8am was showing 4kWh and the house had used 4kWh. The numbers and graphs are urter nonsense.
I'm thinking of creating my own app and it just has a set of tables populated by random numbers which would be at least as accurate. To my mind it makes a mockery of the whole thing. When it comes to replacing the system I'm sad to say Givenergy won't even be on the short list.
If there was a clause in the contract that where they reported falsely elevated export they had to pay us that value at the peak rate they'd soon sort it out!
Sadly Broke Either use the Rubik Cube Android app or Richard Russel BBC basic app (iOS and Android). Both of these read the live and ‘today’ data directly off the inverter and give you options for controlling the inverter activity
I have this, but it shows a massive (8kwh) spike of solar generation at 8am (yeah it's November, I know!!). Looking back at historical days, it started on the 29th October.
It looks like the portal is fine, but the Android App is frankly broken from a data / presentation perspective.
It's still happening with me and I reported it to GE but still awaiting a response 🤦
When I get to replacing the battery, hopefully around 15-20 years away, I'll be installing an alternative system that just has one-off developed monitoring software. The software is totally the weak point on most of today's solutions on the market.
Mine showed no battery discharge in the app today, but the portal confirms that everything is working ok. Battery discharge hasn't been right in my app for a few months now. Why cannot the same data sets be used for both app and portal?

I suspect that in 15-20 years home storage batteries won’t be sold any more as everyone will have V2G from their cars.
But who knows.
Similar issue since 27th October - getting daily spikes in 'Generation to Home' at 7:30am. Makes the app useless.
The GE app is useless for me too and has been for a month. The monthly energy graphs are missing large chunks of days in the month, and yet the weekly energy graphs have all the detail there.
I have the same issue with the portal where the monthly reports are missing days of data, but if I go back under the inverter at each day, all the info is there, so I know the connection to the Inverter is good.
There are a lot of problems GE need to get to grips with!
A few days ago I noticed that my 8.5 kWh batterry had supposedly output about 27 kWh to the grid in 30 minutes. Just assumed there had been a firmware upgrade and my battery was now working in hypermode.
It is comforting to know that other people are having the same problem and it is just an app issue and (probably) not causing any real problems.
Well I have phoned and emailed GE support on this and other issues and was told a member of the technical team would contact me within 48 hours 3 weeks ago. So once again I will have to repeat the email and phone calls to be ignored once again. Goo job my system is behaving itself (well at least the inverter and batteries are so far)
Sadly I've been having a similar problem with the ios version, but mine frequently spikes inputs in mega watts; including during the night. It makes reading the graphs impossible due to energy range. I've tried contacting Givenergy back in July but have had no response 🙁.
