Inverter not honouring Timed Discharge setting

Hi,

I have a setup where I have cheap rate overnight electricity between 00:30 and 05:30. So I set my EV to charge during these times and have my inverter set to:
Timed Charge: 01:15 to 04:15
Timed Discharge: 05:30 to 00:30.
I have Eco mode on but this should be overridden by the set times (I believe).

This setup used to work fine. My car has been in the garage for a while being fixed and I just got it back. In the interim I upgraded the firmware to the latest (still current) version.

What I get now is:

1. Car starts charging at 00:30 from grid - correct
2. Battery charge starts at 01:15 from grid - correct
3. Battery charge stops at 4:15 - correct
4. Battery discharges to car between 04:15 and 05:30 - incorrect
   

Anyone got any ideas how to stop point 4 and only have the battery discharge from 05:30?

If your CT clamp can see the car load and Eco mode is on the battery will discharge to meet the charger load.
If your plan is to cover house load until 00:30hrs I don't think you want to use timed discharge at all. Timed Discharge will discharge at the maximum configured rate until the battery is empty or reaches the reserve value. Eco mode should mean that the batteries discharge to meet the house load and should be all you want.
To stop the batteries discharging into the car either extend the timed charge - if the batteries are already full it will just mean that house load is covered from the grid, or pause the battery if you want to stop charging but don't want it to discharge.

No, that's timed export. Timed discharge pauses discharge outside of the configured window, but just runs normally on eco within the timed period.

It's not impossible that there's a bug which means it doesn't like the pause time spanning midnight. Sort of thing that's easy to overlook. As an experiment, could try setting the timed discharge to be 05:30 to 23:59 to see what happens.
Any reason not to charge for the full cheap rate?

I have a similar set up (AIO) on IOG and thought process.
Timed charge 23.30 - 05.30
Timed Discharge 05.30 - 23.30
Car (Tesla) charges 23.30 - 05.30 using dumb granny charger controlled by the car.
Car never touches battery.

DD sorry, ignore that... I've got it backwards - with discharge 05:30 to 00:30 it means the pause is 00:30 to 05:30 and so doesn't span midnight.

johne is it a GivEnergy charge point, or a third party one?
Is house battery typically empty by 00:30? ie is it not discharging just because it's empty, rather than because it's obeying the config.

DD The EV is charging through PodPoint. House battery was empty last night - just depends on my house usage and weather

DD That was true of older firmware, but timed discharge and export were merged a while back. Are you sure you still have both in the portal/app after the upgrade? We have timed charge and timed export but whilst we used to have an option labelled timed discharge we no longer have that.

There are now battery pause options though.

pwdst I have both, but probably not running latest firmware.
I do recall timed discharge was dropped for gen-1 systems, since it didn't have the necessary support. But if you have timed pause, ought to be able to have timed discharge. (Unless perhaps you have gen-1 with the fast-response firmware ?)

I made the change suggested by Rubikcube and that worked last night (car charged correctly and battery full at 05:30). So thanks very much.
