New toGivenergy

Hi I am new to Givenergy. Had my all in one system installed yesterday. Not yet set up a TOU tariff (i will do this in due course.) At the moment I am focussed on the other main reason for the purchase which is to give the customers in my holiday property a bit of resilience. So at the moment I would like to leave the battery charged to a safe level most of the time so that my customers would still have power in the event of a power outage. For the moment I'd like to be able to have the battery as fully charged as possible most of the timer. I'd also like to be able to switch to this mode whenever a planned outage happens or a storm is forecast (once I have the TOU tariff sorted) There does not seem to be an obvious way of doing this simple schedulling on the app....... so what am I missing?? am i using the wrong app?? or am I just thick?

What you regard as a safe level of charge? IIRC AIO is about 13kWh, which is more than my daily usage (excluding car and heating). Do you want to cover outages of hours, or days? And should your customers expect unlimited usage during outage (baking bread in an oven, for example, or charging an EV), or just low power use (lights, TV, kettle, run gas/oil heating system).

To benefit from TOU, you really need to be running off the battery for most of the more expensive period. So if you don't want to use the battery, you'd end up importing during the more expensive times of day too, reducing the benefits.

AFAIK switchover to backup mode during an outage (planned or otherwise) is automatic, with Gateway at least.

Did you have any particular TOU tariff in mind? (E7, Agile, Cosy, which ever of the Eon ones allow cheap overnight without EV, ...)

Battery only, or also solar ?

If your planning on o TOU soon then I would just set it to work as you intend now (unless you plan to go agile)

so have eco mode on

Set timed charge to potential TOU time so 00:00 to 06:00

Then the critical thing for you is to set the Operating Range for what you want for backup so it should be reserve of 100% so the battery is never used unless there is a power cut - then when you have TOU in place you can decide how much to keep back depending how often power cuts happen your way.
