I charge the battery over night back to 100% at cheap rate. Nearly every other night over the past couple of weeks the battery trips after about 30mins.I have to reset in the middle of the night(old age means I need to get up anyway). The battery continues to charge until 5.30am. I have e-mailed support but no one has got back to me so was hoping to get help within the forum.
Battery tripping
what actually trips that you have to reset?
What battery is it?

If it's the DC breaker the answer may be in this thread...

SteveCook HI SC it is a 9.5KW battery and the trip switch is on the battery side. I think it is the DC braker switch with 2 green switches
Windy Miller Many thanks Windy. The fix appears to be above my pay grade. The local installer I used has gone AWOL and the electrician he used has gone to Dubai I think. I wonder if Givenergy should do the work under Warrantee?

If its a 9.5 battery and the mcb is tripping then it is a Givenergy problem - the MCB comes pre fitted in the battery and the cable is plug and play, so if its tripping (from something coming loose) then it's from factory.
Its precisely why they moved to that kind of setup as many installers were making an arse of tightening up MCB correctly - so they can't have it both ways I'm afraid.
Note: the inverter end may have an issue but if its Gen3 Inverter they too have the plug and socket arrangement on that end as well.
hoggy Thanks hoggy. It is indeed a Gen 3 inverter. Support at Givenergy have not replied to 2 e-Mails and a telecon with their contact, who put a ticket though, with someone will call you back. Still waiting. Hoping that someone at Givenergy reads the forum?

I put in a ticket on September 24th. I finally had some activity on the ticket on the 30th October. So you could have a wait on your hands.
I hope they are getting quicker at responding to the urgent issues..
Good luck
Well finally got sorted just before xmas after almost 2 months of using the grid. The DC breaker switch was replaced. Without tempting fate all seems ok. Is a 2month wait good enough. I do not think so.
I watched a video of Gary does solar the other day. He is getting another non givenergy system after only 2yrs.I can only wonder why.
arthurma Gary has been courted by Sigenergy for ages, that’s been pretty obvious from his videos for a while. And in his case he has a YouTube channel to feed with content so his financial case for changing is different from the rest of us mere mortals! I suspect he has not paid full price for his system.
More to the point it is the amount of time to get anything done, that is if anyone answers e mails etc.. Best of luck should you have a problem.
