Hi folks,

I Minor cross had occurred (I believe today) when I noticed the negative terminal plug of the pv2 string to the inverter (5kw hybrid) has completely melted away with the cable now hanging loose.

I have 18 380w panels in 2 strings feeding 2 8.2 batteries. I'm guessing it happened today as when I checked the app this afternoon it was reporting 5.5kw from solar.

The inverter isn't throwing up any errors. What is a likely cause for me to report back to the installer (only 2 weeks old!). Any advice?

I suppose it's best to kill the DC rather than limp on?

I've emailed, but it's typically smack in the middle of the weekend.

Cheers,
S

That sounds as if the MC4 connector on the end of the cable was incorrectly crimped. If that is the case, all the other connectors are suspect until they have been checked.
