I am looking to get an AC3 installed with a 9.5 kWh battery. I was considering also adding a 5.2 at the same time as I have relatively high usage, but the installer was advised that batteries should be of the same size (ie 9.5 + 9.5, or 3x 5.2, etc), which seems odd. Is that correct? Thanks for your help
Can you combine sizes? 9.5 + 5.2
As far as I am aware, you can mix and match battery sizes without an issue.

One size difference is fine. Larger as Master
Thanks both, is there something in the documentation that confirms this? Wondering why installer was told the sizes have to match
Gentle bump here in case anyone has direct experience or Giv rep about
Boffinboy If you're unsure, just give Givenergy a call. My understanding is that as each battery has its own Battery Management System and it drives all the cells to the same voltage target, the larger battery will take and deliver more current but the cell voltages should all be moving in the same direction by the same amount at the same time. If not, the BMS will adjust things.
Tim thanks. In the end I emailed and they confirmed all Ok
Yeah on the training day Dan said batteries can be mixed and matched, but the largest one has to be the first one.
