All was working fine for over the year, and now noticed that battery is off. When i press 'ON' button, it starts, but then after a shortwhile if switches off again.
Looked at the givenergy.cloud - noticed this notification "BMS Communication Failure"
why would that be? any quick fix maybe? or shall i call for an engineer?

BMS communications failure means the inverter has failed to talk to the battery management system
When you turn the battery on, do you hear a series of clicks inside?
If you turn the breaker on the battery off (either on the side of the battery or separate, depends on battery model), then turn the battery power on, does the battery stay on?
If yes to both of these then your inverter battery motherboard has died and you will need to get GivEnergy or your installer to replace it under warranty
